Train trip to Utah

Hi all,
If you want to take it slow and easy on your next trip, then take the train. I just recently traveled this way on my trip to visit relatives in Utah and even though it was alot of sitting (12 hours) there's just nothing like traveling by the rail. I happily snagged a window seat going both ways and was able to take wonderful photos through the train window. There's not much to see going through Nevada but the ride through the Sierras is amazing and Salt Lake was pretty cool too. I love how on the train everyone is so low key, and there's no checking of your id or what's in your luggage and you can bring all the food and drink you need on board. And if you don't bring your own food there's a cafe and also a reserved seating diner. There's also a observation car that is total windows and has tables so you can play cards or games.
The train host and hostesses are constantly walking down the isles, so it feels pretty safe and there's tons of leg room and huge seats to sit in!
So if you ever need a bit of stress free travel and you also have the time, I highly recommend the rail.
Here are some of my photos, maybe they'll inspire you to take a trip sometime.
talk to you soon,
deborah

Oh what fun! We took our kids (when they were pre-teens) from LA to Indianapolis on the train. It was magnificent, even though the train ended up being 12 hours late! We arrived at 2:00am, there were no rooms available due to a Baptist convention and no cars to rent at that hour, so we took a taxi to Muncie which cost over $100.00. So that part was bad, but the train ride itself was wonderful! ::Jill

What beautiful photos, Deb....I enlarged them in another window and had a great time looking at them.
I've never really traveled anywhere on a train but looks like a lot of fun.

Hi Deb, You did what I have always wanted to do. I want to take a vacation by train because the scenery is so different then what you can see by car and the slow pace I would love. I just think it would really be enjoyable. Thank you for sharing your pictures. Have a wonderful day.

I have taken a few train trips from Seattle to Wisconsin with our children when they were little and we really did enjoy it. I'm glad you enjoyed your journey.

Oh, Deborah your photos are beautiful!
That sounds like a fun trip. I so wish I could take the train everywhere when I go out of town and not have to fly!

Good morning, Deborah! So nice to meet a new Bloggerette sister! How did I miss your blog before?!

I just returned home from a three-week trip to Utah visiting my family...long one! WISH I'd traveled by train as I was the only driver on the way home to California--13 long hours!

I'm a follower now, and look forward to getting to know you better. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!
