Art Studio has begun!
Hi all,
My studio space has begun!
We had to sacrifice a tree for the breaking of ground, but the wood from the cut will be the start of our wood supply for this winter, so it did not give it's life in vain :)
Having my very own designated space for all my art endeavors has been a dream of mine for very many years and to see it coming to fruition is exciting and joyous.
As you can see the hard labor has begun and my contractor (aka: husband) knows how to clear a space with gusto! He has always been one of my biggest fans of my artistic dreams and I am over the moon with his love for me that he would fulfill this dream for me. I'll try to remind him of this as he labors on the many days to come of nailing and cutting, lol.
Stay tuned for updates on the progress, and there may even be a open house giveaway when it's all finished!!!
talk to you soon,

Hope you have a wonderful weekend
I love to see a dream become a reality!
I ate at Ike's last night . . . and thought of you. Since we are "neighbors" we really should meet for "Real" some day soon.
: D
Oh to have a place, a studio of ones own. A little envious, oh so happy for you though!

It is a huge thrill to break ground for your very own studio. I did it a little over two years ago - a separate bldg., 494 sq. ft. with a 100 sq. ft. loft, loads of windows, teeny bathroom w. shower and composting toilet, sink, and counter, small kitchenette space for storage and a hotplate, soapstone wood stove - I am in heaven! Room enough for other artists to come play or for my workshops. I wish you lots of happiness and great creativity in your new space! Re the tree - I had to remove a couple also but managed to save a favorite fir; had the deck built around it and when it gets too big for the hole we can just cut the deck hole bigger - it's a real conversation piece too. Hi Starry,
How exciting is that, a place all your own to create in!!! And, thank God for contractors, aka husbands! You are a lucky girl, and obviously much loved by hubby and usens on Etsy. Please share the progress with us as it goes along.
